Congratulations to Jack who won two awards at the Spark and Burn Awards (Round4) site. Her story Second Chance won the Reader's Choice award for the Crossover category. She also won runner up in the Best WIP category.
We all know how wonderful Jack's stories are, but it is really nice to see others recognize that as well. A big thank you to everyone that voted for Second Chance.

Hello Everyone,
Because of some evil person or spambot, I have had to turn off anonymous reviews on this site. There were close to 300 spam reviews for one of the stories here. It took me a considerable amount of time to delete them all.
Although the reviews no longer show up in text, for some reason the review count of that story was still that high when I checked it afterwards. I do not know if this will correct itself later or not. It's pretty obvious when only a handful of reviews show for Cinderfella and Goldilocks but the count is listed in the mid 200's. I am hoping this will right itself. At least I know that the reviews are deleted.
Jack enjoys hearing from every reader that wants to take the time to leave a review. Even after turning off the anonymous challenges link (again because of spam), we had hoped to keep the reviews open. Unfortunately we can't do that now. I don't have a half hour to hour every day to delete spam from the site.
Please don't let this stop you from reviewing. It only takes a few minutes to sign up for the site. It's well worth it. You can even add stories to your favorites to get an email note when they are updated. We hope that you all will be understanding of the situation.
Sincerely,
~*~Tasha~*~

With the arrival of Jack and Mary's "The Order of the Light", a new category has been created on the site called Crossovers. Order of the Light is a crossover between the Buffyverse and the movie Van Helsing. If you haven't had a chance to start reading it yet, I encourage you to do so. It's very good, and it has at least 9 chapters written already (I know that because I'm beta'ing this story for them). It is being written in response to the Fang Fetish Awards Round 8 Challenge Story.

Okay, here's the plan - Trust has two more chaps and I've half completed the next one, but it's a tough one so it's coming slowly...sorry. SSS has at the very least ten more chaps and although they come fast when I write them, finding the time at the moment is a tad difficult. SC has a long way to go, so it's gonna be another long one.
I'll focus on Trust and SSS first, while at the same time keep updating SC, then when I've finished Trust and SSS I'll start on the sequels, but I have to warn you all now - my bunnies are multipying and I will probably get distracted by new ideas and will most likely add new stories as well.
On top of this I also have numerous joint projects in the works, so please don't think I'm not writing, it's just that some of this stuff has yet to be posted.
On top of that I have RL and an incrediable son who is always going to be my first priority.
I hate keeping you guys waiting and your continuous support means the world to me. I thank you for your patience and promise to update as soon as humanly possible.
Hugs,
Jack

Hi guys, I'm really sorry to say this but my son has just returned from a visit to his biological father and apparently I'm still being stalked. Given this information I ask that any details on my personal life, including my recent illness be no longer discussed. IM or email me for news, but please don't mention anything personal on the tag.
Thank you,
Jack

Hello everyone ... Some of you might have noticed that when you received an update notice from the site that the link would say it wasn't right when you clicked on it. I fixed the problem. Now, if you have signed up to receive an update when Jack updates a particular story, you will receive the right link. I apologize for the error. I figured out why it was sending an incorrect link, and I fixed it.

Hello everyone. I found a way to block all of the "SPAM" messages that were being posted on the challenges page. Thanks to watcher junior for the post (http://efiction.org/forums/index.php?topic=3962.0) that let me know how to modify things.
The only setback with the way to prevent the bad messages is that we can no longer accept anonymous challenges. If you try to post a challenge without logging in, it will tell you to please log in.
Jack really does want your challenges. It doesn't take but a few minutes to sign up for this forum to be able to leave a challenge. Thank you to those people who have already issued a valid challenge. We look forward to seeing more in the future.
Sincerely,
~*~Tasha~*~

I have found a way to delete the SPAM challenges in larger groups by going through a process with my database. It is still a bit of a pain, but at least I don't have to delete every single one individually.
I will still be keeping my eye out for SPAM in the challenges page. I haven't found a way to modify who can and can't leave a challenge yet. We wanted it to be open to everyone, but the SPAM really isn't wanted for other things. I'll keep everyone posted.

Someone or someone(s) have found a way to place SPAM messages on the Challenges page of this site. Today I had to individually delete 4 pages worth of entries that were ads for inappropriate things. I am NOT happy about this in the least.
If this is something that continues, I will be forced to remove the Challenges page as an option for this site. I don't want it to come to that, but it takes a LONG time to individually delete, acknowldege the delete, and return to the renewed page for every inappropriate entry that I have to get rid of.
I will attempt to contact the efiction 2.0 forum to see if they can help me either find the loophole that allowed this to happen, a setting to block it from happening again, or the core file where all challenges are listed so I can remove the ones that are wrong, en masse.
I will post another note when I know more.

Jack won several different awards for When a Slayer Cries and Fixing the Factors at the Seven Seasons Awards (http://community.livejournal.com/seven_seasons/). Congratulations to you Jack and to your fellow writers on Fixing the Factors.
When A Slayer Cries won or was a runner up in 3 different categories (Chipped Hero, Villain, and Something Blue). Fixing the Factors was a winner or runner up in 3 different categories (Long, Villain, and Showing Some Initiative) as well. Jack was also awarded a participation award for the submissions to the Season 4 Challenge.
This is awesome Jack, and we salute you. All new awards and nominations are listed on her awards page. She has a new nomination for Fixing the Factors at the Spark and Burn Awards Round 1.

All of Jack's completed and WIP stories have been uploaded to the new archive here. I will leave the old ones up for now, but I won't be updating them with the new chapters. I will just add update notes on the old site to let people know that a story has been updated.
Since the tag board is the same on the old and new areas, anything posted on the tag board will show up in both places. So, I will try to make sure that notes are left on the tag to let you all know of updates as well.

I think that I'm finally happy enough with the layout. I managed to figure out how to get in the tag board, review graphic, and counter still. It took me a few hours again today to go back through and tweak things. Most of the titles (except for the very top of the page) are actually graphics. I had to make those too, as well as the dividing line above and below the tag board.
What does all this mean? Well, I'm happy enough with the layout to start the major portion of the uploading. Until now I only had Beauty and the Beast - Spuffy Style uploaded to test out the pages.
If you happen to find this page before it is released to the public, please feel free to still join and leave your reviews. Reviews are always welcome.

Instead of getting all of Jack's stories uploaded, Phase 2 of testing was worked on all day October 4th. As you can see it is already well into October 5th, and I'm still going at it. {Chuckles}
The skins, or layouts, that came with the program were great looking, but they didn't work well for posting the lovely story banners that Karyn (and others) created for Jack's stories. So, I worked today on making one that does.
I still have some things to check and tweak here and there, but hopefully the extra day or two that it is taking me to get this up will be worth it.

According to the wishes of the wonderful author JackOfSpikes, her webmistress (me) is looking into using eFiction for maintaining Forbidden Kisses. It will be a lot easier for JackOfSpikes to update her fics herself when she wants to tweak things.
As of October 3rd, 2006 I am in the testing phases of getting this site up and running with the new format. There is a lot more coding to learn and figure out to make it look how I want it to.
As of today, only the 3column skin is completely fool proof. It is the default that you are given for the site as well. I'm currently working on 3column-061003 which is a modified version of the 3column skin. More customizations, images, and skins will be available as I figure out the coding for it all.
I'll start uploading all of Jack's previously written chapters and fics hopefully by the end of the night.
